The Grand Slams

The open era slams have becoming increasingly popular. Serena took $4m in 2014 ($1m for winning the Emirates Airline US Open Series; she took in $3.6m in 2013). Here is when she won her first WTA title, defeating Amélie Mauresmo in France. The singles’ champions were rewarded in 2014:

  • $2.49 million at  the Australian Open 2.65 million Australian dollars
  • $2.14 million at the French Open paid  1.65 million Euros
  • $2.87 million at Wimbledon were rewarded with 1.76 million pounds
  • $3.00 million at US Open. (up 15% from 2013 $2.6m).
